A COMMON SENSE PERSPECTIVE ON AMERICAN GOVERNMENT WHERE INTEGRITY IS VALUED OVER POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
President Abraham Lincoln personified this ideal when he spoke these profound words:
"You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot lift the wage earner up by pulling the wage payer down.
You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.
You cannot build character and courage by taking away people's initiative and independence.
You cannot help people permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves."
And again reinforced by the great abolitionist, Frederick Douglas, in his 1886 speech on the 24th anniversary of Emancipation, "Where justice is denied, where poverty is enforced, where ignorance prevails, and where any one class is made to feel that society is in an organized conspiracy to oppress, rob, and degrade them, neither persons nor property will be safe".

In a persons own finances they can not barrow money to make up for shortfalls, they have to put more money in there budget by earning it, or sell things they cannot afford. One of the ways the government can make up short falls is by shutting down programs that are out of date and are really doing nothing, like the department of energy, home land security, over seas bases, send illegals home, stop giving aid to other countries.
