IMAGINE FOR A MOMENT IF COMMON SENSE TOOK OVER THE PRINCIPAL'S OFFICE AT YOUR CHILD'S SCHOOL....
As parents and students prepare to begin a new school year; imagine how refreshing it would be if school administrators across the land chose common sense values over political correctness, to wit:..............
"To the students and faculty of our high school: I am your new principal, and honored to be so. There is no greater calling than to teach young people. I would like to apprise you of some important policy changes coming to our school. I am making these changes because I am convinced that most of the ideas that have dominated public education in America have worked against you, against your teachers, against your parents, and against our country.
Therefore:
FIRST, this school will no longer honor race or ethnicity.
I could not care less if your racial makeup is black, brown, red, yellow, or white. I could not care less if your origins are African, Latin American, Asian, or European, or if your ancestors arrived here on the Mayflower or on slave ships.
The only identity I care about, the only one this school will recognize, is your individual identity -- your character, your scholarship, your humanity. And the only national identity this school will care about is American.
This is an American public school, and American public schools were created to make better Americans. If you wish to affirm an ethnic, racial, or religious identity through your school, you will have to go elsewhere. We will end all ethnicity-, race- and non-American-nationality-based celebrations. They undermine a core American value, E Pluribus Unum -- "from many, one", and THIS school will be guided by America 's values. That includes all after-school clubs. I will not authorize clubs that divide students based on any identities..........race, language, religion, sexual orientation, or whatever else may become in vogue in a society divided by political correctness. Your clubs will be based on interests and passions -- not blood, ethnic, racial or other physically defined ties. Those clubs just cultivate narcissism -- an unhealthy preoccupation with the self -- while the purpose of education is to get you to think beyond yourself. So, we will have clubs that transport you to the wonders and glories of art, music, astronomy, languages you do not already speak, math, carpentry, and more. If the only extracurricular activities you can imagine being interested in are those based on ethnic or racial or sexual identity, that means that little outside of yourself really interests you.
SECOND, I am not interested in whether or not English is your native language. My only interest in terms of language is that you leave this school speaking and writing English as fluently as possible. The ENGLISH language has united America 's citizens for more than 200 years, and it will unite us at this school.
It is one of the indispensable reasons this country of immigrants has always come to be one country. And if you leave this school without excellent English-language skills, I will have been remiss in my duty to ensure that you are prepared to compete successfully in the American job market. Notwithstanding, we WILL learn other languages here -- it is deplorable that most Americans only speak English . But if you want classes taught in your native language rather than in English, this is not your school.
THIRD, because I regard learning as a sacred endeavor; everything in this school will reflect learning's elevated status.
This means, among other things, that you and your teachers will dress accordingly. Many people in our society dress more formally for a meal at a nice restaurant than they do for church or school. Those people have their priorities backwards. Therefore, there will be a formal dress code at this school.
FOURTH, no obscene language will be tolerated anywhere on this school's property -- whether in class, in the hallways or at athletic events. If you can't speak without using the "F-word," you can't speak.
By obscene language I mean the words banned by the Federal Communications Commission plus epithets such as the "N-word," even when used by one black student to address another, or "bitch," even when addressed by a girl to a girlfriend. It is my intent that by the time you leave this school, you will be among the few of your age to distinguish instinctively between the elevated and the degraded, the holy and the obscene.
FIFTH, we will end all self-esteem programs.
In this school, self-esteem will be attained in only one way -- the way people attained it until the state of Political Correctness decided otherwise a generation ago -- by earning it.
One immediate consequence of this is that there will be only one class valedictorian, not eight.
SIXTH, and last, I am reorienting the school toward academics and away from politics and propaganda.
No more time will be devoted to scaring you about smoking and caffeine, or terrifying you about sexual harassment or global warming.
No more semesters will be devoted to condom-wearing and teaching you to regard sexual relations as only or primarily a health issue.
There will be no more attempts to convince you that you are a victim because you are not white, or not male, or not heterosexual, or not Christian.
We will have failed, if any one of you graduates from this school and does not consider himself or herself inordinately lucky -- to be alive and to be an American.
Now, please stand and join me in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America .
As many of you do not know the words, your teachers will hand them out to you."
The politically correct termites are eroding our country's foundation...........we must stand up for our children so they will be prepared to meet the opportunities and obstacles life presents.

JUNK JOURNALISM
When Barack Obama campaigned for POTUS; the radical views of his spouse were not deemed relevant.
When Michelle Bachman campaigns for POTUS; the radical views of her spouse are controlling.
When Barack Obama campaigned for POTUS; his religious extremism was a non-issue.
When Michelle Bachman campaigns for POTUS; she is defined as a religious extremist.
Extremism is extremism regardless as to the message or the messenger.
No presidential candidate has universally accepted views. However, when the media's subjective whims are determinant as to which views are destructive and extreme and which are not; their blatant partiality not only quashes journalistic integrity, but more importantly the effective 1st Amendment rights of their reader/viewership is also undermined.
The politically correct media moguls now represent the de facto rule of law in the United States of America...................the U.S. Constitution and those that died defending her be damned.
Edward R. Murrow ought to be the benchmark for journalists rather than the anomaly.

ALAN KEYES: WE MUST STOP CONGRESS FROM RAISING THE DEBT CEILING
"Whatever the results of the drama currently playing itself out in the political theater, the nation faces a fundamental decision that cannot be made by politicians hopelessly caught up in the government-addicted premise of that drama's exposition of the tragic flaw in the currently accepted way of doing politics.
It must be made by the people.
They alone can decide to reject the assumption of government dependency imposed by the New Deal syndrome.
They alone can decide to reject the false notion that it's the government's job to assure the welfare of individuals, when in fact government exists only to serve the common good.
They alone can reassert their determination to live as a people who accept the God-ordained responsibilities that give them the right to care for each other as individuals, in natural and voluntary communities free of pre-emptive government dictatorship.
They alone can assert and re-establish the integrity and liberty of those institutions of family, faith and economic enterprise that are the God-endowed natural means of fulfilling this responsibility.
They alone can reclaim control of the income and other material resources required to do so.
Americans will not break the habit of government spending, borrowing and taxation until they renounce the temptations of government solicitude and dependency and the "bribe me" party politics that connives to exploit them.
They will not have confidence enough to resist those deceptive temptations until they rediscover the resources of faith and moral courage that mainly arise from living out the motto that was and ought still to be the openly flaunted secret of their economic aspiration, the slogan that placed their trust in God, not government."

KELLY SIEGLER SECURES JUSTICE AT ALL COST FOR ANTHONY GRAVES
Texas Governor Rick Perry's support of House Bill 417 along with Texas state Senator Rodney Ellis' amendment thereto, facilitated the long overdue compensation for former death row inmate Anthony Graves.
But for the "Justice at all Cost" philosophy and work ethic of former Harris County Assistant District Attorney Kelly Siegler; the "Making Amends" editorial in today's Houston Chronicle on point would not have been possible.
Graves is but one of the many victims Siegler's career has been dedicated to seek justice for without apology or reservation.
Winning for Siegler is not about "the Lykos scalp counters", it is not about the red neck rogue prosecutors who covet convictions as wins regardless as to the issue of actual guilt or innocence, it is not about the media's agenda............."winning at all cost" for Kelly Siegler is NOT about THAT kind of "justice"--- it is about REAL JUSTICE.
We can require that all criminal activity be wrapped in a tidy little box with a simple bow.
It would be nice if all witnesses were honest; crime scenes were never tainted; DNA evidence was always plentiful and pure; prosecutors, defense counsel and investigators were always ethical/apolitical/qualified and diligent; judges and juries always followed the law and charges were appropriate.......in the alternative, we can strive for the ideal but not capitulate to the absurdity of naivete.
Anthony Graves, David Temple and Dror Goldberg were each accused by the State of Texas of commiting gruesome killings.
Each case was uniquly complicated lacking the neat little bow and tidy box too many folks require to proceed.
Each would require an incredible ability and dedication by the prosecutor to achieve a just outcome...........both for the victims and for the State of Texas.
There will always be those who doubt David Temple or Dror Goldberg are truly guilty or that Anthony Graves is truly innocent. That is because these cases are not slam dunk whales with harpoons either way. These are the type of cases that REQUIRE that special character and ability that makes a prosecutor a Rock Star for justice.....political fallout be damned.
Three (3) tough cases and one (1) tough prosecutor.............two (2) convictions and one (1) exoneration as Texas Rock Star Prosecutor Kelly Siegler does what's right because it is the right thing to do; and THAT is what makes a winner.
"Counting scalps" might be the measure of winning if your quarterback is Pat Lykos; but REAL justice is not a game and REAL prosecutors know that.
I challenge Brian Rogers and the Houston Chronicle to interview Mr. Anthony Graves on the issue of Kelly Siegler as a prosecutor.................
